If you haven't guessed it yet, August is my favorite month. Summer is still in full swing, but the promise of change is in the air. Gardens are full and flowers are abundant! Here in Colorado, this is the month that the sunflower fields are glowing with beautifully blooming flowers. In some places the fields are so big it's all you can see for miles. So sunflowers are the inspiration for this months free desktop wallpaper download.

Every June I fly to Connecticut to help out a friend and I'm so excited to be doing it again this year! I usually shut down the shop while I'm away, but this year I was determined to keep the shop open for you! Click through to get all the details.

I love working with Colorado shops! I think because my Colorado designs are some of my favorite...probably cause I'm a Colorado native and I just get it. :)

August Ink is sold in a few boutiques in the Denver area, including Apricot Lane in Centennial. (See a full list of stores carrying August Ink here.) I met Kelsy from Apricot Lane at the Denver Flea a couple years back and it's been great working with her ever since. In addition to buying some of my designs as is, we have worked together to make fun colorways and fits that she knows will do well in her location with her customer base. As a result our products have been a huge hit in the shop.

I recently asked Kelsy why she likes to carry August Ink and this is what she had to say:

Kelsy also sent over some photos of our items in their location! One of my favorite parts of working with boutiques is to see how they style my pieces! Apricot Lane does a great job of this both in the shop and in their photo shoots for their web-shop and to use on social media!

Can you believe it's June already!? It's a little hard to tell sitting here in Connecticut where it has been rainy and grey pretty much since I got here. I miss my Colorado sunshine! But never fear! It just means I'm forced to sit down at my computer and work on some new illustrations and new t-shirt designs! And...time to make another free download. This time a rainbow! I was getting a little extra work down early Saturday morning at my desk and had the window wide open! It felt SO nice. I don't hate winter...but there is just something about Spring coming that feels so great! The air is fresh and smells a little better. The birds are singing and you can start to see green peaking out on the ground and in the trees. Things just feel happier. I have an extra pep in my step!

To celebrate the beginning of Spring, I illustrated this little crocus flower and decided to use it as lock screen on my phone. And I thought some of you might like it too. I was trying to count up the number of summers I've spent at camp last night, and couldn't remember exactly, but I know it is more than 15 years! And those few months or weeks spent at camp each summer hold such a huge place in my heart. From learning to ride a horse to going on back country trips in Colorado. And later leading girls up some of Colorado 14'ers and eventually finding my way to Maine to experience East coast camping! There are so many great memories. And lots of camp songs eternally stuck in my head. All of it a huge inspiration for my first line of kids tees!
